Minneapolis based Western National Insurance Group announced that Michael R. Braun has joined the Mutual company as Vice President - Information Technology, effective today.

Mr. Braun is a graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College (Bachelor of Arts) and the University of St. Thomas (Masters of Business Administration). He started his professional insurance career as a programmer and project leader at Lutheran Brotherhood in Minneapolis, after which time he became Manager and then Director of Information Systems for Ministers Life, also in Minneapolis. Mr. Braun returned to Lutheran Brotherhood, and was a Vice President at the time of its merger with Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. Prior to joining Western National, he was a Director in Thrivent's IT Department.

"Mike's many years of insurance experience in varied areas of technology, and in the many business sides of an insurance company, makes him a valuable addition to the management team at Western National," observed Stu Henderson, President and CEO of the Group.
