Reporting an Injury
Each State strictly monitors and enforces the timeliness of injury reporting and prompt payment of disability benefits. Prompt Injury Reporting is the responsibility of each employer. In most jurisdictions, financial penalties can be assessed directly against an employer when there is a delay in reporting an injury to the insurance carrier. Prompt injury reporting has also been shown to result in lower claim costs and better claim outcomes for both the employer and injured worker.
