A.M. Best Upgrades Outlook to “Positive”, Affirms Rating of “A (Excellent)” for Western National Insurance Group
(Minneapolis, Minn.) Western National Insurance Group today announced that A.M. Best Company has affirmed the Group’s “A” (Excellent) financial strength rating and upgraded its outlook from “Stable” to “Positive”, effective immediately.
According to A.M. Best, the affirmation in rating and revised outlook reflect the Group’s excellent risk-adjusted capitalization and continuing improved trend of operating performance. The rating and outlook apply to Western National Mutual Insurance Company and the following wholly owned subsidiaries: Western National Assurance Company, Western Home Insurance Company, Pioneer Specialty Insurance Company, Umialik Insurance Company, and Arizona Automobile Insurance Company.

A.M. Best also announced the affirmation of ratings for two other members of the Western National Insurance Group: affiliate Michigan Millers Mutual Insurance Company (“A-” financial strength rating, “Stable” outlook) and subsidiary American Freedom Insurance Company (“A” financial strength rating, “Stable” outlook).
