Western National Insurance Group Announces Changes
The Board of Directors has named George Klouda Chairman Emeritus. Mr. Klouda has served on the company board for 45 years and was President and CEO for over 25 years. Mr. Klouda will remain as a Board Member. The Board is pleased that the company will continue to benefit from his experience and industry knowledge.
The Board of Directors has named Ernest A. Lindstrom to the position of Chairman. Mr. Lindstrom is a prominent local attorney and CPA. He has been an active Board member since 1991 and has been Vice Chairman since 1992. Stuart Henderson, President and CEO of the Western National Insurance Companies was elected to the position of Vice Chairman. Mr. Henderson continues as President and CEO, positions he has held since November 2001.
Kenneth Stover has been promoted to Executive Vice President - General Manager of Western National Assurance Company. Ken is a 32-year veteran of Western National Mutual and has been involved in the revitalization of the Assurance Company since 2003. Western National Assurance operates mainly in the States of Oregon and Washington and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Western National Mutual Insurance Company.
Mary Manley has been promoted to Senior Vice President - Corporate Affairs and Administration. Mary has been with Western National for 31 years working in various roles and departments. Mary will centralize many corporate duties into one defined department.
Cindy Doble has been promoted to Vice President - Personal Lines. Cindy has been with the company since 1975. The promotion recognizes her contributions and leadership of the Personal Lines Department.
Dave Matlon has been promoted to Assistant Vice President - Marketing. Dave joined Western National in 1991 in the commercial underwriting department and has been assigned to the marketing department since 1992. He will assume additional duties in the areas of administration and coordination of home office resources as it relates to the Independent Agency Distribution System.
Western National Insurance Group consists of two regional Property and Casualty Insurance companies with total assets of over $300 million, annual direct written premium in excess of $180 million, and current surplus of 99 million. Western National Mutual Insurance Company (with headquarters in Edina, Minnesota) currently offers insurance products in Minnesota, South Dakota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. Western National Assurance Company (with offices in Seattle, Washington) currently offers products in the states of Washington and Oregon. The company distributes its insurance products solely via the Independent Agency distribution system.
