Phil Campbell, Senior Managing Director at Aon, Named 2025 President’s Award Recipient by Western National Insurance Group

(Minneapolis, Minn.) Western National Insurance Group today announced that Phil Campbell, Senior Managing Director at Aon, has been named the recipient of Western National’s 2025 President’s Award.

The President’s Award is a special award given to an individual or independent agency in recognition of sustained support and impactful partnership to the industry, to the Independent Agent model, and to Western National’s Group of companies. Recipients of this award embody Western National’s core values and create a positive and lasting impact in their communities and in our industry. There is only one award bestowed annually, and recipients are nominated and selected by the Senior Leadership Team at Western National.

“Phil was at the forefront of getting Western National – then an A.M. Best ‘B+’ rated company – on its feet after 9/11,” said Rick Long, President and CEO of Western National Insurance Group. “Creative reinsurance solutions and strong relationships with our reinsurance partners, including Phil, allowed for prudent reinsurance coverage at a time when Western National was not as financially strong as we are today. In addition to his key role in our many years of successful partnership, Phil’s impact has been hugely evident in the numerous insurance professionals that he has hired, mentored, and trained. We are delighted to have the opportunity to recognize Phil with this award.”

Kevin Traetow, Vice Chairman of Aon’s Reinsurance Solutions, added, “Phil’s close connection with Western National and his commitment to client service remains a gold standard which our brokers should strive towards. We are immensely proud of Phil’s contributions to the Western National story and are excited to share in the celebration of this prestigious honor from Western National.”
