On Friday, July 12, the Western National summer intern group had the opportunity to volunteer with Warrior Dog Rescue, helping set up for their "Warriors and Wags" seventh-year celebration! Warrior Dog Rescue is a nonprofit organization based in Savage, Minnesota, dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and finding adoptive homes for dogs that have been abandoned, abused, or neglected. The interns spent time setting up tables, chairs, tents, and games for the celebration, which took place on the following day.
The Western National intern group had an amazing opportunity to volunteer with Bridging on Thursday, June 27. Bridging is a nonprofit organization primarily serving the Twin Cities, providing donated furniture and household goods to families and individuals transitioning out of homelessness and poverty. Our interns were able to build 18 dressers that will help furnish homes across Minnesota.
In June, our employees volunteered at Feed My Starving Children, helping pack food to be sent to Uganda. In total, 97 boxes of food were packed during the session, equaling 20,952 meals that will feed 57 kids for an entire year. Western National also made a $500 donation to Feed My Starving Children.
The Western National Internship Program is designed to offer valuable, hands-on technical experience in specific areas of interest to interns, while also providing the necessary tools and resources to facilitate a smooth transition into their chosen career.
